Sunni Muslim Organisation

The Sunni Muslim Organisation does not have a building of its own and therefore two buildings have to be rented. Monthly the rent amounts to Rs 6000 (six thousand rupees or 200 Euro). In order to save this sum of money, the Sunni Muslim Organisation has acquired a plot of land situated at Plaine des Gersigny Street, Central Flacq, Republic of Mauritius on which the construction of an Islamic Centre is in progress.

The Sunni Muslim Organisation nurtures the strong ambition of establishing an Islamic Centre which will house the following Insha Allah:

-     A Darul-Uloom where courses such as Aalim, Hafiz and Qari will be offered by graduates
-    Accommodation of 30 boarding students
-     A Centre where Islamic, Academic and Technical courses also will be offered to both boys and girls
                                                                                                                                     (of all age)
-    A Library

        This project, recommended by the former President of the Republic of Mauritius Hon. Cassam Uteem G.C.S.K, will enable us to improve and expand our services to the community. However we do realise that our aspiration will only materialise with the active participation and assistance of you all.

We hope that you have understood our aim. Our immediate priority is to raise one million rupees (Rs 1,000,000/). We therefore make an appeal to you to donate generously and to persuade others to do the same. Our request to you is to donate your Zakaat or, at least, part of it as support for this project. Lump sum or periodic donations and other forms of contributions in cash or in kind would also be of great assistance.
